The short version
These terms govern your use of Turf & Ardor. By creating an account, you agree to use the app respectfully, treat other people with kindness, and not violate the rules below. We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules. Some legal disputes are resolved by individual arbitration, not class action.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Turf & Ardor. By signing up, you confirm that you are 18+, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you have the legal right to enter into this agreement.
We do not knowingly allow minors on the platform. We enforce age limits via DOB verification and can ask for additional ID verification if we have concerns.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account.
- You may have only one account at a time.
- You agree to provide accurate and current information.
- You may not impersonate any other person, share your account, or transfer it to anyone else.
3. Community standards
While using Turf & Ardor, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or abuse other users.
- Post sexually explicit content, nudity, or content depicting minors in any sexualized context.
- Send spam, promotional content, scams, or solicit money from other users.
- Use the app for any commercial purpose without our explicit written permission.
- Impersonate any other person or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to interact with the service.
- Attempt to bypass safety features (blocks, reports, age verification).
- Use the platform to facilitate illegal activity of any kind.
Violations result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans. Severe violations (threats, sexual content involving minors, illegal activity) result in immediate termination and reporting to authorities where appropriate.
4. Content you post
You retain ownership of the photos, bio text, and messages you create on Turf & Ardor. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, store, and display your content as needed to operate the service. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.
You confirm that any content you post is yours to share — you own the rights to your photos, the bio is your own writing, etc.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
Turf & Ardor v1 is free to use. Future versions may include optional premium features (e.g. weekly, monthly, annual subscriptions and one-time purchases like Boosts). When premium features launch:
- All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store using Apple ID.
- Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's App Store settings.
- Refund requests are handled by Apple, not us. Visit Apple's billing support.
6. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete account).
We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion if we believe you've violated these Terms or our Community Standards, or if your behavior poses a risk to other users.
7. Disclaimers
Turf & Ardor is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that you'll find a match, a date, a friend, or a watch-party companion. We do not perform criminal background checks on users — verification confirms only that the user is a real person.
Use common sense when meeting people in real life. Meet in public places, tell a friend where you're going, and trust your instincts. Read our Safety Tips for more guidance.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Turf & Ardor and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app — including but not limited to disputes with other users, lost data, missed connections, or relationship outcomes.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
9. Disputes and arbitration
Most disputes can be resolved informally. Email us at legal@turfandardor.com first.
If we can't resolve a dispute informally, you and Turf & Ardor agree to resolve it through individual binding arbitration rather than in court — except where prohibited by law. You waive the right to participate in class actions. Arbitration takes place in the State of New York under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. When we make a material change, we'll notify you in-app or by email and update the "Effective" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the new Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
